Corruption is a systemic threat to the security of Kazakhstan, threatening the stability of the state and society, and impedes ongoing reforms, creating a negative image of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the international arena.

Our country has modern anti-corruption legislation, the basis of which is the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Combating Corruption” dated November 18, 2015. and “On the Public Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan” dated November 23, 2015, Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 12.26.2014. No. 986 “Anti-corruption strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2025.” The need for severe liability for corruption crimes is provided for in the Concept of Legal Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period from 2010 to 2020.

To implement international agreements and international cooperation in the fight against corruption, on May 4, 2008, the Republic of Kazakhstan ratified the UN Convention against Corruption.

In order to further determine the main directions of the state anti-corruption policy, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on December 26, 2014 approved the Anti-corruption Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015–2025.

In the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan, “The Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy is the New Political Course of the Fulfilled State,” states that corruption is not just an offense. It undermines faith in the effectiveness of the state and is a direct threat to national security.

Therefore, the fight against corruption is the most important strategic priority of the state policy of Kazakhstan.
